Our Investment Philosophy

Our Investment Philosophy

How we think about investing

A disciplined, fundamentals-driven approach to building and protecting wealth, built for the long term and adjusted as markets change. Managed in-house, by a team that knows your goals.

We build wealth the way durable businesses are built: patiently, on a foundation of fundamentals, with a clear view of the road ahead. Our job isn’t to predict the next headline. It’s to own the right companies and the right mix of assets for the years that follow.

Adams Wealth Advisors manages money in-house. Because our investment team sits alongside the advisors who know you, portfolio decisions are made by people who understand both the markets and the people those markets serve.

The horizon we underwrite competitive advantage over

Four convictions

  1. Fundamentals win over time. We select investments on competitive advantage measured over 5 to 10 years, not on the story of the week.
  2. Context comes first. We start with the macroeconomic, political, and geopolitical picture, then choose securities that fit it.
  3. Discipline beats emotion. A good advisor takes fear and euphoria out of the decision and keeps you invested through the moments that matter most.
  4. Process is a repeatable edge. Frequent team meetings, documented rationales, and a proprietary risk framework turn good judgment into a consistent one.

We're not selecting on the headlines. We're selecting on the fundamentals.

A five-to-ten-year horizon changes what you can see.

Top-down meets bottom-up

Great companies don’t exist in a vacuum. They operate inside economies, policy regimes, and geopolitical currents that can lift or sink even the best business. So before we choose a single security, we map the environment it will have to live in, then identify the specific companies best positioned to win inside it.

The role of a trusted advisor

The largest threat to most investors’ returns isn’t a recession. It’s the decision to sell at the bottom and buy at the top. The single greatest value a great advisor adds is to stand between you and that mistake.

A good advisor takes the emotion out of investment decisions.

How portfolios are built

We build from six core strategies: four global tactical asset allocation strategies spanning conservative to aggressive, plus two concentrated equity portfolios of roughly 20 high-conviction stocks each.

How the equity portfolios are used

The concentrated portfolios are typically bolt-ons, layered onto a diversified allocation rather than held alone.

A solid foundation first, then focused conviction on top.

How decisions are made

There are no rigid buy or sell thresholds. Every position is judged against one continuous question:

The question we always ask

“Would we buy this today, given everything we know about the current 6 to 12 month outlook?”

Structure is what makes good judgment repeatable.

CFA to finance is like an MD to medicine or a JD to law.

The kind of thinking behind your portfolio

Markets will keep changing. What shouldn’t change is the discipline behind how your money is managed. If this is the kind of thinking you want behind your portfolio, we’d welcome a conversation.
